Alfa Romeo Giulietta (1959)
Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint (1959)
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint is a classic compact coupé that became a symbol of Italian sporting spirit in the 1950s. Designed by the renowned coachbuilder Bertone, the Sprint was based on the Giulietta Berlina platform but featured a lighter, more dynamic body with beautifully balanced proportions.
This example is powered by the 1.3-liter inline four-cylinder engine with an aluminum block and twin overhead camshafts (DOHC), producing approximately 80 horsepower. Advanced for its time, this engine played a crucial role in establishing the sporting reputation of Alfa Romeo. The Giulietta Sprint combines lightweight construction, precise steering, and timeless 2+2 coupé elegance, delivering an authentic and engaging driving experience.
The interior reflects the pure spirit of the 1950s: a large, thin-rimmed steering wheel, classic analog gauges, and a minimalist dashboard create an unmistakable period atmosphere. The car offers a direct mechanical connection between driver and machine — a truly analog experience free from modern electronic interference.
Vehicle History
This particular car was first registered in Mexico and originally belonged to the United States Ambassador stationed there. The Giulietta accompanied its owner on international assignments, adding a distinctive and fascinating chapter to its provenance.
It was later used in the United Kingdom before being sold to the Netherlands in 1997. In 2019, the car was imported to Poland.
While in Poland, the vehicle underwent a comprehensive, full restoration:
- the body received metalwork repairs and was refinished in its original factory color,
- the interior was fully retrimmed with attention to period correctness,
- a thorough mechanical inspection and necessary repairs were carried out to ensure excellent technical condition.
Today, the car presents in very good mechanical and visual condition, ready for classic rallies, concours events, or inclusion in a distinguished collection.
